The albergo diffuso – “scattered hotel” – is a key project in the Foundation’s strategy to revitalise and promote Corippo by choosing a concept combining culture, agriculture, tourism, gastronomy and social activities, with the aim of preserving and revitalising the village’s architectural heritage and its rural setting.
The project involves the renovation and extension of the local inn, which will serve as a reception, eating area and multipurpose facility, and the restoration in the traditional style of five old houses belonging to the Foundation. These form the core of the hotel, and will provide 10 rooms with a total of 22 beds. About CHF 4 million is required to create the albergo diffuso. Work will begin in 2020 and the Albergo diffuso opened in spring 2022.
